In their daily lives, Vietnamese people follow the Western calendar, or solar calendar. Thus, they also import some of Western holidays, including the Western New Year Eve (January 1). In Vietnam, since Ho Chi Minh City is influenced by various cultures, activities for welcoming the New Year is mostly concentrated in this city.
On this occasion, roads look brilliant with colorful bulbs and flowers. Shops, outdoor parties are opened to entertain people. The citizens, especially children are looking forward to fireworks performances. Joy and happiness are in everywhere.
